Known History

Sold new in Germany, this specific Porsche 993 RS was delivered on 6 March 1996 to a company called Erhardt GmbH by the Porsche Centre in Stuttgart. Presented in its superb original "Metallic Midnight Blue" livery, it has been extremely well serviced mechanically judging by the regularity of stamps in its service logbook. As a major Porsche enthusiast, its current owner already had a keen interest on this model and acquired it in 2005, despite not being as popular as it is today. The car had a mileage of 115,000km at the time, consistent with what was stated in the logbook. By definition, the RS (aka "RennSport") are lightweight versions and are deprived from non-essential elements such as the soundproofing, rear seats and even internal door handles. Both passengers of our RS can however sit in the beautiful black and grey leather sports sears with tilting back support, not to forget optional air conditioning and electric windows. As a way to keep it running well over time, this car was used regularly and now has 140,000 km on the clock. The file which will be delivered with the car includes past invoices, previous technical inspection reports and a copy of the initial purchase order when it was sold new. In terms of important work done, the engine was fully restored in 2010 for an amount exceeding Ç10,000. As for the last two years, the car has also benefited from a partial paint job, replacement of the clutch, the flywheel, the lambda sensor and the ignition, repairs of the shock absorbers and the brakes. All details of this work are available in the file. Naturally, it also has all its manuals, tools kit and its jack. Our test drive was particularly conclusive: the sound of the Flat 6 in this RS is totally captivating, while the revs are direct and quick. It is one of 1,014 units produced for this model, ideal for lovers of true driving thrill. RS versions have once again become more affordable in today's market and offer the possibility of driving both on the road and on the track. This specific 993, known as the last "true" Porsche since it was the last generation with air cooling, is a RS version that is stunning to look at and with mighty efficiency.
