A warm wind from North Africa, the Ghibli gave its name to a car that could be considered the most stunning of its generation. Designed in less than three months by Giorgetto Giugiaro during his brief stay at Ghia,
The Maserati Ghibli remains the model of finesse and simplicity.
With a top speed of over 270 km/h, a V8 twin overhead cam engine is concealed beneath the bonnet, with dry sump lubrication, a formidable heart of metal born out of the 450 Sport engine. Some 1 170 examples were produced and the Ghibli represents the pinnacle of front-engined Maserati production.
The model we are presenting is a series 1 with manual transmission, undoubtedly the most enviable.
It has been restored in Germany to the smallest detail by one of the best specialists, Berlinetta Motors. More than 190,000 euros have been invested to restore it, but it is undoubtedly the most beautiful restoration of Ghilbi that we have seen to date.
In this metallic gray livery and its interior covered with tan leather, it is simply irresistible.
In addition its ramage is worth its plumage, because everything works there as on a new car. As for its finish, it is much more elaborate than that of the Ferraris of the day, for a price currently significantly lower than its competitors of the time.
The tests in the press of the time confirm that its handling was equivalent to that of its competitors, and that it was easier and more restful to drive.
