Known History

Introduced in 1988 as a coupé, the Virage was the successor to the V8 Vantage, exacerbating the latter's personality while maintaining Aston Martin's trademark balance of sport, luxury and refinement. It marked a revival for the brand, which had long been limited by financial problems. The Virage was a great success and remains a highly sought after Aston Martin today, as it is the last of the brand's entirely hand-built models! In keeping with tradition, the Virage was marketed as a coupé, and then as a convertible with a soft-top 2+2 seat. It is this convertible version of the Aston Martin Virage, the "Volante", that we are offering for auction. This GT convertible is very rare, with only 233 units officially built, 120 of which were left-hand drive.

This luxurious convertible is powered by a 32-valve, 5.3-litre V8 engine delivering 310 horsepower at 5,300 rpm, which is transmitted to the rear wheels via a 4-speed automatic transmission. The combination allows a top speed of 250 km/h and a time of 6.3 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h.

Our example, a left-hand drive version, was acquired by its first owner in June 1993 in Belgium. It was then bought by two French owners and returned to Belgium. The odometer shows 109,000 certified kilometres, of which only 1,000 are with the current owner. The vehicle has a double set of keys, its tool kit, complete and original, as well as its stamped maintenance booklet with all the invoices from 2000 to today. The vehicle is in its original, non-accidental condition, parked in a closed garage and is "matching numbers". It is in Belgium where it is currently registered.
