In 1993 Ferrari presents the 456 as a Berlinetta 2+2 seater.

In 1998 it is launched as a modified version 456M (M stands for Modificato). This was an improved version of the GT in terms of aerodynamics, comfort and interior ergonomics. The bodywork was also further developed by Pininfarina.

The name 456 is derived from the displacement of a 456 cc cylinder.

The 456M (M stands for Modificata) was introduced in 1998, starting with chassis number 109589. Many changes were made to improve aerodynamics and cooling, and the interior - still fitted with Connolly leather - was refreshed with new seats and other amenities (fewer gauges on the dashboard and a new Becker stereo installed in front of the gearshift rather than behind the very flat and special Sony unit in the 456 GT). The 456 had a smaller grille with fog lamps outside the grille. The 456M's underbody spoiler is fixed, while the older 456 had a powered spoiler that only deployed at 105 mph and above. The hood was the first commercial application of carbon fiber, while the previous one was a composite. Power remained unchanged at 442 hp (325 kW; 436 PS) in the Modificata with Bosch Motronic M5.2; the firing order of the cylinders was changed to allow smoother running, and torque remained the same in later versions of the 456 GT.

This Ferrrari 456 GT M was first registered in 1998 and delivered in the beautiful Grigo Titanio 3238 color with beige interior.

The current owner has had it serviced recently, with bills over Ç10,000.

The leather on the dashboard has been replaced. It is a common problem with this model that it turns to rubber and becomes sticky after a while.

The Ferrari still has its original tool kit as well as the original Ferrari cover. Additionally, it has a sport exhaust. It has been regularly serviced by Rossocorsa Ferrari, the official dealer in Milan, and has been used only in the good season and otherwise kept in a garage.
