Known History

This 1969 280 SL spent its life in sunny California.

It came to Hamburg 10 years ago to the current owner and shows in the original patinated interior, including original carpet in great condition!

It was professionally painted beige (light ivory) 7 years ago, including the hardtop, as evidenced by invoices. The dashboard was also painted, confirming a professional job. The color at delivery was dark red.

The car is completely matching numbers!

The engine, transmission and brakes work perfectly. It starts right up, even if it sits for a long time or the engine is very warm.

The gaps show perfect spacing and there is no rust through visible.

The valuation report of 2016, grade 2, certifies a replacement value of over 93,000 euros.

In 2018, the soft top was renewed and much more:

Overhauled fuel injection, including new nozzles.

Brake system completely new

Steering system

Shock absorber renewed

Fuel pump overhauled

Fuel tank new

Exhaust renewed

The underbody is sealed and the joints and bushings have no play.

The original beading on the headlights is still original.

The car is registered on German "07" collector plates and has the German full inspection including the H-plate report.

Before the handover the Tüv will be redone. So the next owner will be the registered first owner in the German documents.

Looking at this 280 SL Pagoda, it is a very solid and reliable car that has been professionally maintained.

Take your chance to bid on this Mercedes at a more than fair minimum price.
