Known History

The Fiat Dino Spider has all the qualities of a high-class GT: an elegant four-seat body by Pininfarina and a Ferrari engine which did everything brilliantly, a quad-cam V6 offering mechanical distinction and an exhilarating sound. The 2.4-litre Spider was more powerful than the 2-litre and also rarer, with just 420 cars built, versus more than 1100 for the 2-litre.

This example left the factory in 1971 and was registered in Italy in 1981. Its bodywork, in an elegant metallic grey, is very sound. The panels are generally well aligned, while the body seals are in good used condition. The black vinyl upholstery appears original and has been well preserved, with only a small tear on the driver's seat. The dashboard is to the original specification and its top free from cracks. A Sung radio/cassette player has been added. The odometer reads 31,714km. On test, the brakes proved satisfactory and the clutch progressive. The attractive Cromodora alloy wheels are fitted with Rockstone tyres from 2009 and 2010, showing overall wear of about 10%. The hood is also in good condition. As a result, this is a fine example which has been particularly well preserved and offers its new owner the prospect of some long journeys to the enchanting sound of its noble engine.
