Known History

Pininfarina's design of the Fiat 130, which has become classic, was not dissimilar to the similar style and pencil stroke which gave birth to the Ferrari 365 GT / 4 2 2, also launched in 1971, which became the 400, and then the 412. Fiat produced a 3.2L V6 with cast iron block and light alloy cylinder heads with single overhead camshaft, developing 165bhp at 5500rpm, aspirated by a Weber carburetor and mated to an automatic 3-speed gearbox, with a five-speed manual transmission available as an option. It was at the time the top of the range Fiat, demonstrating that this firm was also capable of producing luxury and high-quality automobiles. The car on sale received a partial restoration in 2015. The bodywork and paintwork were redone, the bumpers received chroming and the seat cloths replaced. The automatic transmission, rear axle and universal joints were overhauled, and the tires replaced with Michelins.
