1959 Mercedes 190SL Roadster

The Mercedes-Benz W121 Bll, or the 190SL, was produced from 1955 to 1963. Manufactured by Daimler AG, the model was introduced in 1955 with the intention of being a more affordable version than the well-known 300SL. In 1954, a prototype was exhibited at the International Motor Sports Show in New York. This generated a lot of interest among experts and enthusiasts. Karl Wilfert and Walter Häcker designed the 190SL with a memento of the 300SL “Gullwing”. The car came with a 1.9 liter 4 cylinder engine with an overhead camshaft.
In 1990 this Daimler-Benz copy was imported from California to Germany. This is where the restoration took place. This continued until the end of 1996. In the process of this restoration, the carburettors, 'ATE brake unit', master cylinder, bearings, steering wheel, lighting, and the wiring harness along with many more things were renewed. The remaining parts that have been renewed can be found in the restoration report. This 190SL is finished in a beautiful black paint along with a tan beige leather interior, which gives the car a nice classic look. The original black soft top is made of heavy quality Sonnenland fabric. The interior features a rare and sought-after Becker radio.
This copy is in very good condition. Various photos and reports of the restoration process are available. There is also a TÜV report and the car has a strict, German ''H-Zulassung'' registration. This Roadster is ready for a new owner!

De Mercedes-Benz W121 Bll, oftewel de 190SL, werd geproduceerd van 1955 tot 1963. Geproduceerd door Daimler AG, werd het model in 1955 geïntroduceerd met de bedoeling als een meer betaalbare versie dan de welbekende 300SL. In 1954 werd er op de International Motor Sports Show in New York een prototype tentoongesteld. Dit zorgde voor veel interesse binnen experts en liefhebbers. Karl Wilfert en Walter Häcker ontworpen de 190SL met een aandenken aan de 300SL “Gullwing”. De auto kwam met een 1.9 liter 4 cilinder motor met een bovenliggende nokkenas.
In 1990 is deze Daimler-Benz exemplaar vanuit Californië geïmporteerd naar Duitsland. Dit is waar de restauratie plaats heeft gevonden. Dit liep door tot eind 1996. In het proces van deze restauratie zijn onder andere de carburateurs, ‘ATE brake unit’, hoofdremcilinder, lagers, het stuur, belichting, en de kabelboom samen met nog veel meer dingen vernieuwd. De resterende onderdelen die zijn vernieuwd, zijn terug te vinden in het restauratieverslag. Deze 190SL is uitgevoerd in een prachtige zwarte lak samen met een tan beige lederen interieur, wat de auto een mooie klassieke look geeft. De originele zwarte soft top is gemaakt van zware kwaliteit Sonnenland stof. Het interieur is voorzien van zeldzame en gewilde Becker radio.
Dit exemplaar verkeert in een zeer goede staat. Van het restauratieproces zijn er diverse foto’s en rapporten aanwezig. Ook is er een TÜV-rapport aanwezig en de auto is voorzien van gewilde Duitse ''H-Zulassung''. Deze Roadster is bereid voor een nieuwe eigenaar!
