The Renault Dauphine came on the market in 1956 and was the successor of the Renault 4CV. The car had an engine with a capacity of 845 cc that was coupled to a manual three-speed gearbox. The engine was 32 hp strong, which was good for a top speed of 112 km/h. In addition to the standard Dauphine, a Gordini version was available from 1957, also with an 845 cc engine, but with a four-speed manual transmission, 36 hp of power and a top speed of 130 km/h.
This Renault Dauphine Gordini is finished in black and white painted surfaces with the lettering "POLICE" on both sides. Don’t expect that the heroic car is suitable for a brave chase; with an acceleration of 30 seconds to reach 100 km/h, you don't really make a fist against shrewd criminals. But with this nostalgic trim and with a real flashing light on the roof (magnetically attached and removable), the Gordini is an endearing car that will always lead to a lot of sympathy and a relaxed chat with bystanders. The interior is finished in matching red and black leatherette. The car is both optically and technically in good condition, although the Skai leather seats show some signs of wear.

De Renault Dauphine kwam in 1956 op de markt en was de opvolger van de Renault 4CV. De auto had een motor met een inhoud van 845 cc die gekoppeld was aan een handgeschakelde drieversnellingsbak. De motor was 32 pk sterk, wat goed was voor een top van 112 km/uur. Naast de standaard Dauphine was er vanaf 1957 een Gordini uitvoering beschikbaar met eveneens een motor van 845 cc, maar met een vierversnellingsbak, een vermogen van 36 pk en een topsnelheid van 130 km/uur.
Deze Renault Dauphine Gordini is uitgevoerd in zwart-wit gespoten vlakken met aan weerszijden het opschrift “POLICE”. Niet dat de heldhaftige auto geschikt is om een dappere achtervolging in te zetten, want met een acceleratie van 30 seconden om de 100 km/uur te bereiken, maak je niet echt een vuist tegen gewiekste misdadigers. Maar met deze nostalgische uitmonstering en met een heus zwaailicht op het dak (magnetisch bevestigd en verwijderbaar), is de Gordini een vertederende auto die bij omstanders altijd tot veel sympathie en een ontspannen praatje zal leiden. Het interieur is uitgevoerd in stemmig rood en zwart kunstleer. De auto is zowel optisch als technisch in goede staat, zij het dat de Skai-leren zittingen enkele gebruikssporen te zien geven.
