The Virage was Aston Martin's replacement for the decades-old V8 models. Introduced at the Birmingham Motor Show in 1988, it was joined by the high-performance Vantage in 1993, and the name of the standard car was changed to V8 in 1996.
This V8-powered car was intended as the company's top model, with the 6-cylinder 1994 DB7 slotted below it. Although the DB7 switched to a V12 engine and claimed the performance crown, this V8 model remained the exclusive, expensive, and hand-built king of Astons. By the end of the 2000 model year, 1,050 of all Virage related models had been produced.

The most exclusive model produced from the Virage is the Virage Volante 6.3 Widebody and is the last of the luxury Gran Turismo super cars entirely designed and hand made in house by Aston Martin. In effect it ends an era stretching back to the 1950's when Aston Martin produced exclusive models that have become the hallmark of British sportscar excellence.

The variant offered here is perhaps the rarest of them all. With supporting documentation from Aston Martin this particular car is an original 6.3 Litre wide body car produced for the UK market. A total of 35 6.3 litre wide body cars were produced with only 22 for the UK with the remaining 13 cars destined for the US. Out of the 22 UK cars only 4 were fitted with an automatic gearbox, as fitted to this example.

The car is reported by the vendor to be in excellent condition in all respects with the paint work finished in Racing green and the interior in parchment leather piped in green with green Wilton carpeting. The 500 bhp engine is described by the vendor to be in excellent condition. The car has a well documented service and repair history with countless stamps in the service book by Aston Martin Lagonda Works Service, Lancaster Aston Martin and specialist Ian Mason.

The car is supplied with a V5 document and current MoT valid until October 2007. A true British GT in every sense of the word which will provide outlandish and exclusive wind in the hair motoring.
