The MG X-Power SV is powered by a staggering 4.6-litre, 320 hp quad cam all-aluminium V8. The SV range features an immensely strong box frame chassis allied to a uniquely constructed carbon fibre body shell which is instrumental in keeping the kerb weight to a competitive 1540kg and the centre of gravity as low as possible. It sprints from rest to 60mph in 5.3 secs and on to a top speed of around 165mph. The range, according to MG, is aimed at individuals who share a passion for high performance sports cars and like to test a car's abilities to the full. It is described as an exhilarating, but above all responsive and well-mannered car that is equally at home driving to the race rack as it is performing on it. Designed from new from the team led by Peter Stevens whose portfolio includes many renowned sports cars, until now, pinnacled by the McLaren F1. The 4.6-litre engine is mated to a 5 speed Tremec manual transmission with drive to the rear wheels via a BTR limited slip differential. Attached to each corner are standard fitment O.Z. split rim 8J x R18 wheels shod with 225/40 ZR18 tyres at the front and 10J x R18 with 265/40 ZR18 tyres at the rear.

This particular example is known as XP3, a prototype built by Dove Engineering on behalf of MG Sports and Racing at a cost of £400,000. This car was only used for the 2002 Birmingham Motor Show and all marketing campaigns including the MG SV video and used to test production interiors. This car was discussed at length in the book 'MG X Power SV' and details the build and development history of XP3 at length. Over the last five months the car has been significantly up graded to meet DVLA SVA guidelines and will be provided with an SVA certificate and MoT. All work has been done with out affecting any of the cars look and feel and has been strengthened with the air conditioning activated. The car is finished in metallic gun metal grey with a grey and orange interior. The car is said to be in very good condition with the engine, body and chassis in excellent order.
