Nobody knew styling and horsepower better than Cadillac ľ it was the golden rule of selling cars in the 1950s. However, excellent advertising certainly did not hurt sales.

During World War II, Cadillac ads featured action illustrations of Cadillac powered tanks crusading through the front lines of occupied territory. By the mid-1950s, these ads had changed to feature elegantly dressed women in evening wear with beautiful diamond and ruby necklaces, marking a return to the bread and butter of Cadillac ĺ s image. Additionally, each ad always featured a catch phrase to drive the message home, as Cadillac was truly the only name when it came to personal luxury in America.

The 1957 models lived up the Cadillac reputation; their slightly updated bodies and trim options defined the cars as new models but their souls were still linked to the winning Cadillac formula of offering peerless quality, refinement and a relaxed driving experience.

A wide array of optional equipment was available for the 1957 Cadillac. Some of these items included: air conditioning, heating system, new electrically-operated antenna, new signal-seeking pre-selector radio, Autronic Eye, spotlights, new fog lamps, license plate frames, E-Z-Eye tinted glass, sabre-spoke wheels, new electric operated six-way power seat, new remote-control trunk lid lock, rear compartment radio control, radio foot control switch, cushion toppers, rubber mats, whitewall tires, whitewall tire cleaner, Door-Guards and seat belts. Overall, these Cadillacs, in keeping with their predecessors, were designed for and sold to the affluent Americans who believed owning a Cadillac was a statement of good taste, style and intelligence.

The 1957 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible offered here is a wonderful example that underwent a professional high- point mechanical and cosmetic restoration only a short time ago. Finished in white with a luxuriously appointed, correct, black and white two-tone leather interior, this convertible is complete with a heater/defroster, clock, radio and E-Z-Eye tinted glass to name but a few desirable options. Accordingly, it possesses a host of power equipment, which includes the top, windows, steering, and brakes. The outstanding condition of this 1956 Series 62 is evident in all areas of the car, which makes it a prime candidate for any vintage motoring events geared towards 1950s classics.
