This 1964 Porsche 356C SC is a Reutter-bodied coupe that was built in late 1964 (October 26, 1964 Acceptance certificate date) . The car was repainted in Guards Red by a prior owner, but was originally the much sought after Ivory (6404B). Power comes from a matching numbers 1.6-liter flat-four paired with a matching numbers four-speed manual transaxle, and other features include ventilated 15 wheels with hubcaps, optional dash clock, four-wheel disc brakes, VDO gauges, and a Blaupunkt radio. The SC represents the last iteration of the 356 and the highest level of engine development, sporting 95HP and the much coveted large oil pickup! (This particular engine has higher compression 1720 pistons)Service by the seller has been extensive, as evidenced by the service invoices, and included work to all systems (steering, braking, suspension, drive train, etc) to bring the car into excellent running and driving condition. New rubber seals have been applied at openings (doors/windows/lids). New tires fitted. Many new suspension rubber components were added to return the suspension to fully serviceable condition and reconditioning/restoration of various component parts was performed. All work performed by noted 356 specialists, including Jerry Pelegrino, George Nelson and German Motors, Providence RI.This 356C is now offered with copies of previous titles and registration documents, factory books, a Factory tools, and a clean title.Ventilated chrome-finished 15 wheels with hubcaps are mounted with BF Goodrich 175/80R Touring T/A tires. Four-wheel disc brakes were introduced to the 356 in 1964 models. All brakes were serviced and received new seals and lines where needed. The transmission out service was performed in late 2022 and included new seals as well as a new main shaft and bushing from Vic Skirmants at 356 Enterprises.The front bucket seats and folding rear seats are trimmed in black upholstery complemented by matching square-weave carpeting, door panels, and trim all of which is believed to be original and is good serviceable condition. A Blaupunkt LMKU-band radio is mounted below a VDO clock in the center of the dashboard. A factory C steering wheel sits ahead of green-letter VDO instrumentation that includes a tachometer with a 5,500-rpm redline, a 120-mph speedometer, and a combination gauge. The five-digit odometer shows 06505k miles. True mileage is unknown. The car received many other service items too numerous to list including new battery, new ground straps, new battery box. The 1.6-liter flat-four was serviced with an oil change in early 2022 and tune up including replacement of various seals and bushings. Heating system received service and reconditioning. At the same time, underbody retaining straps and cables were replaced. The engine-case stamping reads P 812610 and is consistent with a late 1964 356C 1600 SC engine with a 9.5:1 compression ratio rated at 95 horsepower at 5,800 rpm and consistent with factory Kardex. Engine out service was performed in late 2022 and extensive detailing and reconditioning/restoration was performed. Additional photos of the underside are presented in the gallery below, and the seller points out the car has benefitted by replacement Floor and rocker panels and no corrosion exists. Undercoating was applied per factory specifications.All in all, an excellent 356 that is capable of driving long distances at speed and in comfort
