MG B GT
| ![CDATA[ The MGB was launched in May 1962 to replace the MGA. Introduced as a four-cylinder roadster, a coupé with 2 2 seating was added in 1965 with production continuing until October 1980. The MGB GT sported a ground-breaking design by Pininfarina with the launch of its sporty 'hatchback' style. By combining the sloping rear window with the rear deck lid, the GT offered the utility of a hatchback while retaining the style and shape of a coupé. Acceleration of the GT was slightly slower than that of the Roadster due to its increased weight although top speed was improved by 5mph to 105mph due to better aerodynamics.
Originally registered on 16 th August 1973, this MGB GT has been owned by the vendor since February 2004. Having been used very sparingly of late, the vendor has decided it is time to sell this automatic transmission example. The car is supplied with a V5C registration document, together with a current MoT test certificate valid until 6 th December 2023. We are advised the engine starts and runs well, although the best way to describe this MG would be as a rolling restoration. It is not uncommon for owners to use their car during the summer months, garage them in the winter and carry out any necessary work. These ideal entry level classic cars are relatively simple and can be worked on by a competent DIY mechanic. The MG Owners Club are very helpful and a never-ending supply of parts seem to be available for these cars. This MG is offered for sale without reserve.
