This beautiful and elegant Alvis Coupé was clothed at the owner’s request by Hermann Graber in 1959 as a “Graber Special”. Only around 50 TD21 were hand built in Wichtrach and clothed in either a Coupé, Cabriolet or Saloon coachwork. This rare left hand drive example was taken over by the vendor in 2005 followed by a complete restoration of the coachwork in 2011. The engine was opened, inspected and overhauled as necessary in 2016 - on this occasion the cylinder head was converted for unleaded fuel. The original leather interior was maintained, and the carpets replaced at the same time. The four-speed manual gearbox shifts correctly with the exception of the second gear synchro which requires a bit of love and patience. The braking system - discs at the front and drums at the rear - was overhauled in 2018. Over the last 18 years the Alvis was regularly and thoroughly maintained and, in order to improve reliability, an additional electric cooling fan as well as an electric fuel pump were installed. A large number of receipts for all the work performed is available. The Graber Special is in very good overall condition and will be sold with the last veteran MOT completed in 2018.
