Mercedes-Benz 250 SE Coupé (W111)
| ![CDATA[ The 50s was the decade of the ponton but these were now feeling dated, Paul Bracq was subsequently drafted in to revamp the styling of the range and the change was immediate. The rear-end treatment was far more stylish and streamlined with the W111 coupés, as shown here, demonstrating a beautiful pillarless treatment once the windows were down. The body shell overall benefited from a lowered roof and waistline with an increased glass area creating a far ‘airier’ feel. Some cars have a timeless quality about them which can be seen at a glance. The 250SE coupe is one of them and as someone wiser than me once said, “Quality is remembered long after the purchase price is forgotten”.
Originally registered in Australia It was then brought over in 2014 and sold to the current owner in the UK. Overall, the car presents in superb condition presented, as it is, in Milano Brown with new carpets and dash board. The engine and automatic gearbox have both been rebuilt with rebuilt brakes, discs and pads all-round. The shock absorbers are now new Bilsteins and the paintwork is in superb condition. In fact, the chrome work, wheel rims and glass are all in excellent condition throughout. Supplied with a light service and full 12 month MoT test certificate, the quality of this example is indisputable and if you're looking for what could only be described as a museum quality example then look no further.
