This 190 SL was imported into Switzerland on the 10th of July 1961 and first registered on the 14th July of the same year followed by a delivery to its first owner on the 21st of July. The original custom clearance document and copies of the original service booklet are available. The service booklet would indicate that the car was taken over by its second owner in 1977. After 43 years in his ownership the Mercedes was acquired by the next owner towards the end of 2020 and was finally sold to the last keeper in 2022. The coachwork was most probably restored and repainted in its original black colour (DB40G) many years ago with the paint now showing some signs of ageing. The interior is in its original condition with a period correct patina. The original matching numbers engine is running faultlessly but over the years the somewhat temperamental Solex carburettors were replaced by a set of easier to maintain Weber carburettors. The suave Cabriolet also received new tyres in 2023. As presented today, the 190SL is in good condition, has most probably only covered around 100’000 kilometres and will be handed over to a new owner with the last veteran MOT completed in July 2020.
