Originally delivered new to Los Angeles, California in 1975, it subsequently spent the bulk of its life in the southwest (California & Arizona), which is reflected in its condition. While only 520 Urraco P250s were produced, it is still considered a volume car by Lamborghini standards, but their are very few existing in this condition. This car was late in the production run, with only about fifty P250s made after this car. Presented in the stunning factory Rosso with Rosso leather interior combination, it is perhaps the only one of its kind according to the registry. Paint is very deep and stunning despite minor stone chips on rocker panels and nose. The car was extensively overhauled in 2002 (about 4k miles ago), with a top-end engine rebuild, transmission rebuild and exhaust system by a Lamborghini specialist. Recent sorting and detail work has made this one of top Urracos available. Overall condition is superior to an example that came out of the same collection that recently sold for a record amount.
The twin cam 2.5L V8 snorting through four Webers provides a strong punch and a wonderful soundtrack. At only 2,426 lbs, the car moves and handles like a true sports car. The Gandini wedge design is nicely complimented with rear louvers that wrap around the quarters and large vents in the front compartment housing the battery, full size spare, ac unit, electronics, fluid reservoir and dual cooling system fans. The sizable rear trunk along with the rear seats provides a nice amount of practicality in a sports car. As the predecessor to the Jalpa, is arguably more desirable as it possesses cleaner lines and a more nimble driving experience. Being the baby brother to the Countach, Urraco values are poised to explode and be more in step with other Lamborghinis along with the vintage Italian car segment. If you've been searching for a Urraco or a car that will stand out among "common" sports cars, this is it. A great opportunity to acquire a pivotal Lamborghini design in a well-cared for example.
