He noted the aluminum construction of the Polish built MiG was in many ways similar to the Cobra he had just finished. Soon thereafter, a deal was made to have the jet manufacturer build replica Cobra bodies. The Polish Cobra bodies became known as the finest in the world. So good in fact, that Carroll Shelby bought 50 bodies from David to use on his continuation Cobras.
