We have another beautiful Volvo PV444 in our offer, and this time not just any 'normal' PV444. This is a very early copy from 1949.
The PV444 paved the way for Volvo's development into a successful passenger car manufacturer. Due to its great popularity, the PV444 is seen as the "people's car" in Sweden. It was presented in 1944 in Stockholm, but production did not start until after the end of the Second World War.
The PV444 is a true icon of Scandinavian craftsmanship and car design, and Volvo still uses this model to this day for the designs of new Volvos.
We can say that the previous owner was very fond of his car. The car has been completely body-off restored, which took 15 (!) years and lasted from 2005 to 2020.
The restoration was carried out by a well-known “Marque” specialist who only deals with Volvos and this is reflected in the car because no expense has been spared on the restoration of this Volvo. which is evident from the significant amount of more than €50,000 that has been invested.
However, the time and money invested have resulted in more than just a restored car; it has returned a timeless classic to its youthful glory and preserved a legacy for future generations.
The body was completely reduced to bare metal and then rebuilt. As you would expect from a restoration that lasts 15 years, all chrome parts have also been completely re-chromed, from the characteristic grille to the elegant handles and mouldings. The above-mentioned work is beautifully documented by a photo album with many photos from the beginning to the end of the restoration.
The interior has also been completely reupholstered in a beautiful pastel green colour, which looks great on the car, especially with the black paint, this makes for a nice combination.
Then the engine, which is the well-known 1414CC engine with 40 HP, the engine has also been completely overhauled and ensures that this Volvo is a reliable travel companion for the coming decades.

Wij hebben weer een prachtige Volvo PV444 in ons aanbod, en deze keer niet zomaar een ‘normale’ PV444. Het betreft hier een zeer vroeg exemplaar uit 1949.
De PV444 baande de weg voor Volvo's ontwikkeling tot een succesvol personenautofabrikant. Door zijn grote populariteit wordt de PV444 in Zweden gezien als de "volksauto" . Hij werd voorgesteld in 1944 in Stockholm maar de productie kwam pas na het einde van de Tweede Wereldoorlog op gang.
De PV444 is een waar icoon van Scandinavisch vakmanschap en auto-design, en gebruikt Volvo dit model tot op de dag van vandaag nog voor designs van nieuwe Volvo’s.
We kunnen wel stellen dat de vorige eigenaar erg gek op zijn auto was. De auto is namelijk compleet body-off gerestaureerd, dit nam 15 (!) jaar in beslag en duurde van 2005 tot 2020.
De restauratie is uitgevoerd door een bekende “Marque” specialist die zich alleen bezighoudt met Volvo’s en dat zie je terug in de auto, er zijn namelijk kosten nog moeite bespaard op de restauratie van deze Volvo. wat blijkt uit het aanzienlijke bedrag van meer dan €50.000,- dat is geïnvesteerd.
De tijd en geld die er in gestoken zijn hebben echter geleid tot meer dan alleen een gerestaureerde auto; het heeft een tijdloze klassieker teruggebracht naar zijn jeugdige glorie en een erfgoed bewaard voor de komende generaties.
De carrosserie is compleet teruggebracht tot kaal metaal, en is daarna weer opnieuw opgebouwd. Zoals u mag verwachten van een restauratie die 15 jaar duurt zijn ook alle chromen onderdelen geheel opnieuw verchroomd, van de karakteristieke grille tot de elegante handgrepen en sierlijsten. Al deze bovengenoemde werkzaamheden worden mooi gedocumenteerd door een fotoboek met veel foto’s van het begin tot het einde van de restauratie.
Het interieur is ook volledig opnieuw bekleed, in de prachtige pastel groene kleur, wat de auto prachtig staat, zeker met de zwarte lak zorgt dit voor een mooie combinatie.
Dan de motor, dat is de bekende 1414CC motor met 40 PK, de motor is ook geheel gereviseerd, en zorgt er voor dat deze Volvo een betrouwbare reisgenoot is voor de komende tientallen jaren.
