Spring has come and this Jaguar is raring to go...Last year of the Series I. The 1967 Jaguar XKE Roadster 4.2 Series I cars are consider investment grade cars, in other words a car likely to appreciate in value-This number matching, original factory color exterior and interior is a nice example. The car has been well kept and an ongoing restoration throughout it's years. The car currently has 76,993 original miles. We have a copy of the second owner’s title showing when the car was bought in August 1994 and it registered 68,390 miles. Further restoration was performed on this Jaguar by Classic Coachworks in Mount Dora, Florida, to bring it to show quality. Receipts of $25,000 are available. The only paint work that needed refreshing was under the bonnet which was not up to our quality. The cars under carriage is clean and all the brighworks are very nice. The technician found that the number two valve was bad and we pulled the head and had a shop in Lakeland, Florida, replace all six valves and rebuild the uper side of the engine. In doing so, the engine was detailed completely and the three carburetors were overhauled and compression on all cylinders are now in-line. We also replaced the top with a new English canvas black top. The seats were re-trimmed including re-stuffing to proper specification and covered with new leather hides. A very well sorted car that needs nothing and has great eyeballs!! Maximum horsepower held at 265 but was developed at 100 fewer rpm, 5,400. Curiously, that was 400 rpm into the new, more conservative red zone marked on the 4.2 car's tachometer. Accompanying this engine were numerous other improvements, or at least changes. There were new rings on the new pistons to further cut oil consumption, a new starter motor, a radiator core changed from aluminum to copper, and an exhaust system newly "aluminized" for longer life. A modern alternator ousted the old-fashioned generator, thus eliminating the gradual running-down of the battery in certain conditions, and the entire electrical system was switched to negative-ground. Another new brake servo was installed. Thanks to new seals, the lube interval for the front ball joints was upped from 2,500 to fully 12,000 miles. At the rear, the suspension was altered slightly to prevent bottoming on severe bumps. New clutch cylinder, brakes slaves and alternator were just replaced. Priced to sell NOW!!
