We are pleased to offer 1993 Jaguar XJ220 S Racer s/n 220801, a Tom Walkinshaw Racing designed one–off race car based on the TWR designed and built XJ220 S, making this a very exclusive vehicle. This two owner XJ220 S Racer is finished in silver with black trim and a black leather interior with Willans racing seat belts. S/n 220801 was only driven by the owner to a few local club events, and so has only 281 miles.

When introduced in the early 1990s, the Jaguar XJ220 was the fastest production car on the planet at 220 mph. When Tom Walkinshaw Racing (TWR) and Jaguar Sport launched the XJ220–C to compete in the GT class (Group N) of FIA motor sport, the bar was again raised. At the same time, in January 1993 at the Autosports Show in England, TWR and Jaguar Sport also announced the XJ220 S, a limited–production, road–going version to comply with homologation requirements. Besides the five “standard” XJ220 S models that were built, Tom Walkinshaw Racing also put a boxed tube “A”–arm front racing suspension and huge radial–mounted monoblock Brembo racing calipers on the tub of chassis 220801, made the car even lighter by leaving out some of the street trim pieces, changed the conventional side windows to fixed perplex windows with sliding vents, removed the air conditioner and then fitted the XJ220 S drivetrain and high–quality lightweight carbon fiber bodywork.

While the standard XJ220 was clothed in a lightweight aluminum body, TWR’s S version replaced every panel, except the doors, with high–quality lightweight carbon fiber resulting in a svelte 2,379 pound brute, and this car is even lighter. In doing so they added a front splitter, wider rocker panels and a large carbon fiber rear wing that gives the XJ220 S an imposing look, making the standard XJ220 look domesticated. The lightweight carbon fiber nose is easily removable for access and service. TWR also cranked the twin–turbo V–6 from 540 bhp to an impressive 680 bhp. The XJ220 S could leap to 60 mph in 3.3 seconds and reach 228 mph. Because s/n 220801 is even lighter than a standard XJ220 S, it is even quicker and thanks to huge Brembo calipers, has the stopping power to match the performance, yet is tractable enough that it can be driven on the street.
