Known History

1954 MG TF Roadster

VIN: HDB463271

Engine: 4-cylinder overhead valve

Transmission: 4-speed maual

The MG TF launched in 1953 as a re-faced TD, fitted with the TD Mark II engine, a sloping radiator grille, and headlights in the wings. The external radiator cap was now a dummy, as a pressurized cooling system was fitted to better cope with hot climates. In 1954 the engine was re-designated XPEG and enlarged to 1466 cc by increasing the bore to 72 mm (2.8 in) giving 63 bhp (47 kW) at 5,000 rpm and the car was designated the "TF1500".

This beautiful iconic British roadster was purchased from new, on June 24, 1954 from Adley Motors in New Haven, Connecticut. Much of its history is unknown until many years later when it was discovered in a barn and sold to its second owner. The car was complete and had no rust or damage!

Soon after its discovery, the MG went through a 4-year complete and fully documented restoration, with no detail overlooked. The undercarriage is very clean and kempt, while the mechanicals and drive train are as reliable as the day it was purchased. This fine example boasts a gorgeous tan interior finished in the most desired British racing green paint. And with only 28,000 original owner claimed miles, it would be very difficult to find another TF of this caliber.
