Award Winning Aluminum Reconfiguration by Giordanengo
| Created in 1992 in Italy by Giordanengo from Ferrari 250 GTE s/n 2901, this immaculate and correct 250 GTO reconfiguration is one of the very best examples available.
As an original GTO would be, this car is equipped with painted deep dish Borranis wire wheels, 6 Weber carburetors, Veglia gauges, aluminum outside fuel filler, plastic side and rear windows, Marshal headlights, and straight pipes. The dash is finished in correct black crackle paint. The body is fabricated from aluminum and accurately mounted on the Ferrari tube chassis. As with a GTO, the V12 Ferrari 250 engine has been dry-sumped, and power is fed through a 5 speed gearbox with correct finned case. Both the gas and oil tanks are riveted, per GTO specifications. It is fitted with watts linkage and sits on Dunlop racing tires.
During the previous ownership period (1993-1998) the car was vintage raced and log books are available for those events. The current owner has shown the car and brought it up to perfect or near perfect specs cosmetically. The car was awarded with a first place trophy when shown last fall.
There is basically no evidence of use or cosmetic flaws of any significance anywhere on the car. The gaps are even and straight throughout, and there are no stress fractures anywhere on the paint. The trunk, doors, and hood all shut easily.
Mechanically the car feels fresh and strong. The gearbox shifts smoothly and the motor is responsive and powerful. In GTO configuration, this car is much lighter and therefore much faster than a GTE.
The paint work on this example emulates 250 GTO s/n 3445. We cannot stress enough the correctness of this car when compared to other replicas. With other dealers asking $400,000 for similar cars, this car should look like an absolute steal.
