Bangla Bangers first aired on The Discovery Channel on the 25th September 2006 and was an instant success. The series featured Leepu, an eccentric car designer from Dhaka who transforms 'rust buckets' into show stopping super cars without any power tools or modern equipment. Bernie, a straight talking cockney mechanic, flew out to help Leepu create the most individual cars on the face of the planet.

The initial series has now spawned "The Garage London" with the Chop Shop team producing a series of hand built one off creations for the show to be screened on the Discovery Channel in the autumn of 2007.

The "Sumo Car" had the bodywork largely stripped and remodelled out of sheet steel which accounts for the dramatic look of the car. Based on the reliable and sound chassis of a BMW 325 from 1992, the Sumo has bespoke hub spacers which have been hand-crafted out of aircraft grade aluminium widening the car on each side by 6 inches at the rear and 3 inches at the front, giving the car a squat menacing look. Further upgrades include the front and rear suspension bushes replaced with nyloc units, and there are new Byldstein competition shocks and springs. Also the ball joints have been replaced front and rear. The BMW 2.5 litre straight six engines has been further enhanced with a stage 2 superchip in the ECU for upgraded bhp and a custom built exhaust system fitted.

The interior has been custom upholstered in black and grey leather, with a host of custom fittings supplied by Rich brook, such as custom pedals, leather steering wheel and various trims. Coys are proud to be auctioning all twelve creations from The Discovery series 'The Garage London' with a six wheel surf van and a modified London Taxi currently in the workshops.

This fully road legal, one off creation is in pristine condition and perfect for the collector looking for a truely unique car.
