This right-hand drive Dauphine, built in 1964 and first registered in 1965, is a factory Gordini model fitted with all the homologated performance options available via Renault's Competition Department between 1962 and 1966 including suspension modifications in the form of 'Mille Miglia' bars which prevent the tuck-under normally associated with swing-axles. In excellent condition, the car was purchased from a private collection having covered an indicated 20,000 miles from new making it an excellent proposition as an historic racing saloon. Race-prepared to the letter of the FIA's Appendix 'K' Regulations though retaining as much period patina as possible, it is classed as a 'Group Two Competition Touring (Saloon) Car'.

Blessed with nimble handling, excellent four-wheel disc brakes and a healthy power-to-weight ratio, this Gordini has been campaigned across Europe over the past six seasons in various historic championships, winning the HSCC Appendix 'K' Saloon Class outright in 2003 against Lotus Cortinas, Ford Mustangs and Falcons. Other notable invites and races have included the 100th Anniversary celebrations at Phoenix Park, Dublin, the Chimay Historic Endurance Races in Belgium, winning the 1-Litre Historic Sports Car Class at Castle Coombe and finishing the 2004 season with a double car/double driver entry at the Mallory Park Top Hat Race Day. Its engine has recently been rebuilt for an outing at the Oulton Park Gold Cup Meeting and is eligible for a plethora of European historic championships including all FIA Appendix 'K' events, Goodwood, Gentleman Drivers U2TC events, HSCC/HRSR Championship, Top Hat Endurance Racing events and the French 'Maxi 1000' Series. It is perhaps one of the best value avenues into top level historic motor sport and is offered with a history file containing owner's manual, manufacturer's brochures, DVLA list of former keepers, assorted expired MoT's, V5 document, FIA papers, roll cage certificate, sundry invoices and further useful information. A quantity of spares comes with the car including a race-prepared crankshaft and flywheel assembly, cylinder head, cylinder block, gearbox, set of original domed pistons and sundry other items as removed during the race preparation stage.
