2000, 1 Aug., sold to Mel Spillman and as per copy of cashier’s check from Frost National Bank to Kehl Motors from Mel Spillman, $97,840.80 needing paint, tires, chromework, an interior and years of deferred maintenance corrected.

2001, 20 Dec., as per Jim Custer, assistant District Attorney for San Antonio, Texas, this car is now owned/liened by one of six attorneys for Mel Spillman.

The mechanic who serviced all of the Spillman cars. Has all new carpets, new leather on the seats, etc.… The back glass and the windshield are out and new front and rear glass comes with the car. There is an all new rubber kit for the car. It also has new front wraparound lights, new backup lights and many other new–old–stock parts. It is very sound mechanically and has been serviced. Mechanically it has had all the parts needed for a service installed and also has new spark plug wires and of course new oil filters, a new air cleaner element, etc.… The car has a seized smog pump and a new one in the box. Syncros are very good. The car drives very well. The brakes and rubber hoses are all new. The brake pads are new and the brake calipers are all rebuilt. Also has new Michelin XWX tires from Coker tires. Has the original tool kit. Has mag wheels. Also comes with new 9” 512 Boxer rear wheels. Way too many parts to list! Purchased as part of a package including a Lola 332, a Shadow DN–5, a 512 BB, a 308/288 GTO conversion, and an F40 “hot–rod”.

2003, restoration re–started with all co–ordination and mechanical by Rod Drew’s F.A.I., Costa Mesa, CA.
2003, September, during restoration sold to current owner, Vancouver, Canada.
2006, restoration completed.
2007, April, shipped to Vancouver, Canada, registered in Canada but almost never driven. |
