Known History

This vehicle is located in our San Carlos California Showroom (650) 326-1000.

Beautifully restored and original 1968 Dodge Charger. Acquired by the current owner in January 2000 this Charger is on its 3rd owner, with the previous owner in possession of the car since 1970. The previous owner was a paint and body professional who completed a frame up restoration in 1996, prior to his retirement. After the restoration the Charger was displayed on the Hot Rod power tour in ’99 and has also been shown by the current owner over the past few years. The car was “debuted” at Spring Fling 2000 in Los Angeles and has gone on to win numerous awards including best restified, first place muscle car, best B-body, and recently won 3rd in Mopar Alley’s Top Gun against 20 other first place finishing Mopars from the previous year. The car has also been sponsored for the prestigious Air Systems Foundation benefit show and Ron Kimball has photographed the car supporting the fact that this Charger truly is a perfect example of a classic Mopar.

The car was purchased in Oregon by the current owner and remained there until it was brought down to California. Since the car is accident free and rust free the body is straight as an arrow. Paint is color code 331 “Charger red” and has been protected by 7 layers of clear coat, where pinstripes were then applied over this. This car was a white hat special meaning that it had white top, interior and whitewalls, however the first owner upgraded to Cragers and it has remained that way to date. The current owner does have a complete set of 5 restored rims and 6 decent hubcaps that will go with the car.

This Charger has been appraised and documented by Pacific Automobile Appraisers and Galen V. Govier. The seller has the original owner’s manual including the blue certicard in the back and the Customer Care Warranty. They also have the broadcast sheet that was found in the backseat. This car was built in Hamtramck, MI and the trim tag has been decoded to where the details verifying originality can be seen below. Everything is in working order except for the windshield washer, making this the perfect collectable car. This 1968 Charger is an investment grade classic Mopar that will always be desired.
