Every once in a while you can still find cars out there that are un-restored "survivors" but the term is being grossly overused nowadays. We feel this '74 Plymouth Duster is a car that is truly deserving of the of the survivor moniker and is a true time capsule. What it lacks in cubic inches it makes up for in correctness and originality. In fact, the car is so original we really enjoyed driving it because it gives you an idea of how these cars really drove when they were new. Sometimes when they are restored and have been wrenched on a lot you never get to experience that off-the-dealer-lot feeling but in this car you really can and it drives fantastic. The 225 CI Inline-Six engine, with only 80,000 original miles, starts up with authority and doesn't give a hint of smoke on start-up or at any time during operation. The power steering is spot on and the car tracks perfectly straight down the road. This car did receive front disc brakes as a factory option but they are manually operated. Amazingly, the factory AC has been kept up to date and is still blowing cold. All the interior lights/gauges/etc are in great working condition and make this car a pleasure to drive. The exterior of the car is also original right down to the factory green paint and no-rust body. This car came equipped with the "Twister" appearance package which included a canopy vinyl roof, upper body stripe, rear deck lower stripe, Rallye wheels, front sway bar, and Twister decals. The car was sold new in Anderson, SC and has remained in the south its entire life which might explain why it has been so well preserved over the years. To us, this car looks right now about like most '74 Dusters probably looked about the year 1978 if you could somehow go back in time and buy a slightly used one. We do have the original build sheet that goes with the car along with a laminated re-production window sticker. This Duster would make an excellent first car for someone who appreciates classic Mopars and doesn't have a ton of dough to spend on a restored V8 car (or who doesn't want to pay for the gas to fuel one!). Or it could just be a cool classic to putt around town in. Either way, classic Mopar ownership comes at a relatively cheap price for this one and this car is guaranteed to not give you any headaches. It feels tight, and it drives like 1974 is today! This vehicle is located in our Atlanta showroom. For more information, please call (678) 279-1609 or toll free (877) 367-1835.
