The inaugural Gooding & Company auction at Amelia Island will be held at 5.00pm on Friday 12 March as a new major part of the prelude to the Concours d’Elegance on Sunday 14 March. The venue for the auction is the grounds of The Racquet Park on Amelia Island Plantation, one mile south of Amelia Island Parkway on Florida A1A.
The world renowned auction house will offer a total of 72 cars, spanning a broad variety of categories and tastes. They will include six cars with coachwork from the Pininfarina design studio, including the one-off show car 1956 Nash Rambler “Palm Beach” Coupé Special, an ex-Aga Khan Ferrari 500 Superfast, and for those who prefer something a little more modern a 1985 Ferrari GTO. Other notable offerings within the eclectic selection include a 1931 Voisin C20 Mylord Demi-Berline, a 1939 Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 SS Berlinetta Aerodinamica with recreated coachwork in the style used by Carrozzeria Touring on the model in period, a 1939 Cadillac V16 Convertible Coupé, a 1939 Bugatti Type 50 Cabriolet and a 1962 Maserati 5000 GT with Allemano coachwork.
