Sardinia's Poltu Quatu Classic is Drawing Concours Winners

Poltu Quatu Classic returns to the scene of major international events with the 4th edition of the most beautiful and glamour’s summer competition organized by Auto Classic with the collaboration of Between ( Integrated communication agency ) and the Grand Hotel Poltu Quatu.

Between the 5th and 7th July, 2019 authentic four-wheeled jewels from the most exquisite and rare collections of Italian and European vintage cars will parade the streets of Costa Smeralda.

The competition has managed to establish itself among the events dedicated to historical cars, by becoming part of the circuit of major international events recognized by the FIVA (Federation International Vehicles Ancients). In addition, it will also have the patronage of ASI and the Sardinia Region.

The event is made possible thanks to the special passion for motor and racing of Daniele Pulcini, CEO of Pulcini Group and owner of Grand Hotel Poltu Quatu. Daniele Pulcini used to be a driver and he is now proud father of Leonardo, who will represent Italy in the FIA European Formula 3 Championship 2019.

During the evening of July 6th, during the final parade on the main square of Poltu Quatu, guests and followers will have the opportunity to see those authentic cars on display.

As part of this grand finale, the Righini Collection will compete in this event following their success in the Parco Valentino Classic 2019 in Turin. Max Stancari will compete for the best in the show title with the Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 Cabriolet Touring.

The Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 Cabriolet Touring is one of the fantastic cars stored in the Castello di Panzano nell’Emilia, together with the Alfa Romeo 8c Tazio nuvolari, the first car built by Enzo Ferrari.

Mauro Milano, winner of the Elegance Contest Alassio Classic 2019, will bring to Costa Smeralda the Lancia Theta 1915, a fabulous pre-war car that in 2008 was a major protagonist at the Elegance Contest at Pebble Beach, California.

Silvia Nicolis will represent the Nicolis Museum of Villafranca, driving a splendid Fiat 1100 Vistotal Cabriolet Carrozzata Castagna, a unique exemplary for the first time in the Elegance Contest.

About 25 extraordinary cars are expected at Costa Smeralda, including, for the first time at the Elegance Contest, 5 Supercars of the last twenty years.

The International Jury will be overseen by the car historian Paolo Tumminelli, assisted by designer Fabrizio Giugiaro who will bring his latest electric show car GFG Kangaroo to Sardinia. Other notable members include Luciano Bertolero, founder of Auto Classic and great Ferrari expert, Afshin Behnia CEO & founder of Petrolicious, the famous social platform dedicated to the automotive industry, journalists Shinichi Ekko, President of the Maserati Club of Japan, Carlo Di Giusto, Vice president of Ruoteclassiche and Luca Gastaldi, ASI Press Office Manager.

Historical Cars will compete to win the prestigious Best in Show Cup created by Giorgetto and Fabrizio Giugiaro's GFG Style (the cup will be a sculpture of composite materials that changes only in color compared to the other Elegance Contest organized by Auto Classic & Between, like Alassio Classic and Parco Valentino Classic).

The Participants will enjoy a wonderful experience among historical places, wine tastings and days on the beach, while driving their vintage cars through the breathtaking scenery of Costa Smeralda.

The most daring can also experience the thrill of high speed at sea thank to the “Off Shore Experience” with the five-time World Champion of Motor boating Aaron Ciantar, who will visit Sardinia directly from Malta to entertain the participants.

The event will also have a special night parade, on the night of 6th July in the main square of Poltu Quatu.

As by tradition, Simone Bertolero will present the event on board of a Fiat 500 Spiaggina, the preferred car for the summer period by the international jet-setters; on remembers Gianni Agnelli or Aristotele Onassis driving in it. The journalist Savina Confaloni, one of the most appreciated and well known faces in the world of cars, will accompany Simone Bertolero also in this edition of Poltu Quatu Classic.
