Giovanni Moceri and Daniele Bonetti of the Team Alfa Romeo won the 1000 Miglia 2019. The duo in a 1928 Alfa Romeo 6C 1500 SS - owned by the Alfa Romeo Museum of Arese - won the 37th historical re-enactment, with 74752 points. Moceri, a doctor from Palermo, and Bonetti, a journalist from Brescia, beat the Villa Trasqua team, composed by two Brescians, Andrea Vesco and Andrea Guerini who, in a 1929 Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 SS Zagato, gained 73611 points. In third place the last year title holders, with 72786 points, Juan Tonconogy and Barbara Ruffini, in a Bugatti Type 40 of 1927. In fourth place, close to the podium are Alberto Riboldi and Paolo Sabbadini, in a 1926 O.M. 665 S Superba 2000.

"We are happy for this great achievement, this 1000 Miglia was very challenging - says Moceri and Bonetti with satisfaction - we have been trying it for several years and now we made it. This also thanks to the support of the FCA Heritage team which has granted us a wonderful car belonging to the Alfa Romeo Museum of Arese. We are proud to associate our names to this car".

Vesco and Guerini swallowing a bitter pill, declared: “We are not completely satisfied, it is a second place that burns. We competed with very strong teams to which we would like to congratulate. In the greets we would like to include Tonconogy and Ruffini, who have already won three editions of the 1000 Miglia”.

The Argentinian couple Tonconogy and Ruffini turn on the spotlight on the umpteenth experience of the Freccia Rossa: "1000 Miglia is a fantastic race and it was, once again, wonderful to cross the incredible places that Italy offers".

To win the Coppa delle Dame, the competition reserved to the first female team, is the duo composed by Silvia Marini and Francesca Ruggeri in a 1937 Aston Martin 2 Litre Speed Model, arriving at the 32th overall position, with 53766 points. A nice competition with Franca Boni and Monica Barziza.

Among the curiosities, the challenge between judges of MasterChef, Carlo Cracco and Joe Bastianich, goes to the Italian- American who, together with Luca Pascolini, in a 1950 Healey 2400 Silverstone E-Type, closed at the 135th position. Cracco instead, with Carlo Fonti, in a 1951 Lancia Aurelia B20 GT 2000, finished 277th. The well-known digital entrepreneur Riccardo Pozzoli, who participated at the "most beautiful race in the world" with Maurizio Aiolfi in a 1938 Fiat 508 C Balilla 1100 Berlina, closed at the 89th position. Among the drivers who made the history of motor racing, it is reported that Romain Dumas (Team Chopard), who was traveling with Armando Musotto in a 1957 Porsche 550 A Spyder 1500 RS, was forced to retire. While Miki Biasion, together with Piero Giovanni Pissavini, driving a 1953 Ferrari 250 MM Spider Vignale, arrived at the 113th place.

“The 37th historic re-enactment of the 1000 Miglia has come to its conclusion: we have passed through enchanting villages, we have amazed the crews and the public, showing the epitome of the Italian spirit to everyone. We can feel satisfied and proud for how this edition has turned out. Compliments to the winners, and also all those who raced with integrity and an healthy spirit of competition. And finally, a special thanks to the public of onlookers, who in every city, in every village, in every street, welcomed us with an unforgettable warmth, but also to all of those who have allowed the great outcome of this edition” says Franco Gussalli Beretta, President of 1000 Miglia Srl.

430 cars (53 withdrawn), 1801 kilometres, 4 days of driving, 40 hours at the wheel, 200 town halls, 7 regions. These are the numbers of the 1000 Miglia 2019, always the hallmark of beauty and elegance. An authentic spot of the most fascinating Italy, which enhances man, art, religiosity, craftsmanship, cuisine and the quality of living in harmony with nature.

Despite the gloomy weather, enthusiasm and emotions were not lacking at the award ceremony in Piazza della Vittoria.
