Dijon, 30th of April, 2019

The Tour Auto Optic 2ooo cavalcade left the lights of the capital in the early hours of the morning on its way to the Vaux-le-Vicomte château for the official start of the 28th staging of the rally. On the first day’s programme was a 400-km leg with a special stage in the morning followed by a trip to the Dijon-Prenois circuit in the afternoon after which the cars went to the Dijon parc-fermé installed in front of the town’s Palais de Sports.

Thus, the morning was marked by the first special stage of the 2019 event. The three competition grids were the first to arrive at the timed start in Sens (Yonne) to do battle against the clock. They were followed by the two regularity fields in the late morning.

After lunch in the magnificent setting of the Château de Vaux in the Aube the competitors followed the roads that led to the Dijon-Prenois circuit.

Tomorrow, for the second leg of the Tour, the competitors will leave Dijon and match themselves against the stopwatch in two special stages. They will also go to the Magny-Cours circuit and finish their journey at the foot of the historic Gerland stadium in Lyon.
