Auburn, Indiana, 5 June, 2012

In recent years, Worldwide Auctioneers has established its annual catalogue event, The Auburn Auction, as an integral part of the Labor Day festivities at the long standing Auburn Cord Duesenberg Festival Weekend. This year the fifth annual event will be at the heart of the action, with today's announcement that The Auburn Auction will take place in the historic setting of the National Auto and Truck Museum (NATMUS), housed in the former factory L29 Cord building of the legendary Auburn Automobile Company.

"We are excited to have a long term agreement with NATMUS to conduct the sale from the museum itself," said John Kruse, Worldwide's Managing Partner & Auctioneer. "What better place to present The Auburn Auction than from the premises that were once used to assemble automotive icons like the L29 Cord and used by prominent designers and engineers such as Fred Duesenberg, Gordon Buehrig, Alan Leamy, and Herb Snow and others for their creations. Auburn is our hometown, and this is a fantastic opportunity to help promote one of our industry's historic landmarks and to work with NATMUS, the City, the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Club and Festival, the ACD Automobile Museum, and Auctions America to contribute directly to the increasing success of a great Labor Day Weekend tradition here in The Classic Car Capital of the WorldTM."

The Auburn Auction is scheduled to run from August 31 to September 1. Worldwide Auctioneers is the official auction company of the Early Ford V8 Foundation, and "All Ford Friday" will be held on the evening of Friday, August 31, featuring a catalogue auction of important Fords from all eras, in part benefiting the Foundation. Auction goers will get a very rare chance to make a significant charitable contribution and bid on an awesome 2004 Ford GT Factory Test Mule, slated to be auctioned by Worldwide as a highlight of Friday's sale, with proceeds going directly to NATMUS itself, a non-profit entity. "We are thrilled to be partnering with Worldwide Auctioneers for this event," said Don Grogg, NATMUS's Executive Director. "The proceeds from the sale of this exceptionally important motorcar will make a very real difference to NATMUS and we cannot express how excited we are that are a car of this significance will be auctioned on behalf of the museum."

"The Main Event" will take place on the evening of Saturday, September 1, a catalogue auction limited to 80 exceptional motorcars. Exciting early consignments include a 1931 Cadillac V12 Convertible Coupe, a 1929 Packard 640 Phaeton offered without reserve, and a stunning 1934 Packard 1101 Convertible Coupe. Consignments are now invited and may be discussed with any of Worldwide's Motorcar Specialists at 800.990.6789. Visit www.Worldwide-Auctioneers.com for full details on the weekend.
