Gooding & Company Totals $9 Million in Sales at Its October 2020 Geared Online Auction

Santa Monica, 4th November, 2020

Gooding & Company, the auction house revered for selling the world’s most desirable and prized collector cars, achieved $9,284,031 at its October 2020 Geared Online auction. The company achieved an overall 77% sales rate from 51 of 66 lots sold, with three vehicles selling over $1 million.

Gooding & Company delivered a diverse lineup of collector cars, from early classics to modern supercars, as well as a carefully curated selection of automobilia for the five-day online only sale. The 1956 Maserati A6G/54 Spider garnered $1,892,000, becoming the most valuable car sold at the five-day sale. Mercedes-Benz and Ferraris rounded out the highest sales with the 1964 Ferrari 250 GT Lusso selling for $1,430,000, and a flawless 1957 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing saw bidding placed up until the very last seconds, before ultimately selling for $1,254,000.

The company’s offering of automobilia saw an exceptional 100% sell-through rate. The 1990 Claude Botin 250 Testa Rossa Child’s Car sparked a thrilling bidding war before ultimately selling for $30,625.

“Our Geared Online sales have proven to be incredibly successful thanks to our team of specialists and their expertise in consigning unrestored gems and top of the category collectibles,” states David Gooding, President and Founder of Gooding & Company. “These sales have offered a distinguished array of cars and automobilia that are trending among collectors and blue chip marques, encouraging continued confidence among our buyers in the quality consignments.”
