Arguably the most passionate advocate of hosting open-to-public classic car auctions, Historics unsurprisingly invests significantly in its venues for the 1,000 to 1,500 enthusiasts who typically attend each of its major sales.

Now, the ebullient auctioneer’s profile is set to increase still further with the news that Bicester Heritage is joining Ascot Racecourse, Mercedes-Benz World and Windsorview Lakes on Historics’ auction roster for 2022, playing host to the Autumn sale on Saturday, 24th September.

Announcing the signing of an agreement with the fast-developing mecca of all things classic, Historics’ owner, Mark Perkins, commented:
“We are continuously exploring potential new venues that can support our mantra of delivering the very best auction experience. Consequently, we are absolutely delighted to be holding our major public sale of some 200 fine and varied classics on Saturday, 24th September at bustling Bicester Heritage.
Perkins continued: “Staying with open-to-public auctions, including throughout the pandemic, and maintaining a full-to-bursting auction hall, proved conclusively to us that the appetite for proper, public auctions is undiminished.  That too is borne out by our sale results where, successively, fewer than 50% of sold lots go to our online bidders.”

In reply, Bicester Heritage CEO, Daniel Geoghegan, remarked “It’s clear that we and Historics share the same ethos in providing a great environment for people to come and enjoy. I wish Mark and his team all success for their September sale in the auction hangar at Bicester Heritage, they can be sure of our warmest welcome.”

Founded in 2013 Bicester Heritage has gone from a standing start to a home for 45 specialist businesses based at the beautiful 444-acre former WW2 RAF Bomber Training Station. Over 95% of the buildings have been delicately restored or re-activated for modern business use.

Since its launch in 2010, Buckinghamshire-based Historics' focus is to appeal to the wide breadth of the classic car community, from very affordable to highly collectable. Regular auctions of some 180 classic motorcars are staged during the year at its established venues.

Following a buoyant £3m season opener and a 78% rate of sale at Ascot Racecourse on 12th March,  Historics is now inviting entries to its forthcoming auctions - at Ascot on 21st May, Windsorview Lakes on 16th July, followed by Bicester Heritage on 24th September.  Historics‘ auction year concludes with a grand winter sale at Mercedes-Benz World on Saturday, 26th November.
