The few 857 S were powered by a version of Ferraris 4 cylinder engine with the largest displacement 3,431cc. 0570M Scuderia Ferrari works car ... started as 750 Monza ... ran a couple of races with a 2 litre engine ... then for the 10h of Messina the 3 litre engine was reinstalled and there after 0570M was modified to 857S specs
0578M Scuderia Ferrari works car ... also started as 750 Monza ... it follwed the same scenario as for 0570M
0584M Scuderia Ferrari works car ... renumbred 0578M before being sold in 1956
