Fiat 8V Berlinetta Speciale Pininfarina Wins Parco Valentino Classic Concourse d’Elegance

The Fiat 8V Berlinetta Speciale Pininfarina, a unique example of the Righini Collection, returned to the city where it saw the light for the first time in 1955 and won the Best in Show at the first Parco Valentino Classic Concourse d’Elegance! Max Stancari at the helm of this marvelous Fiat brought to Modena the precious Best in Show Trophy by GFG Style of Giorgetto and Fabrizio Giugiaro (a sculpture of composite materials that changes only in color in the other Concourses of Elegance organized by Auto Classic and Between Alassio Classic and Poltu Quatu Classic).

The thirty protagonists of the competition lined up in Piazza Vittorio Veneto on the morning of Saturday 22 June, where the public saw the Jury presided over by Paolo Tumminelli (Auto historian) and Andrea Levy (President of Parco Valentino Motor Show) at work and composed of Paolo Pininfarina (ASI Vice President), David Giudici (Ruoteclassiche Director), Luciano Bertolero (Ferrari Expert), Alberto Vassallo (Car & Vintage CEO), Sandro Binelli (Auto historian) and Enrico Renaldini (Co-Founder Gare d'Epoca).

The cars then crossed the center of Turin in parade to reach the court of the Valentino Castle where the parade took place and the award ceremony in front of the large public of Parco Valentino Motor Show, which hosted the Concourse d’Elegance organized by Auto Classic and the communication agency Between.

The judges had the difficult task of electing the best car in competition among authentic pearls of rare beauty like the prototypes made by Bertone and brought into the race directly by the ASI, by the Bertone Registry and by Giorgetto Giugiaro who presented the legendary in Turin Corvair Testudo of 1963, winning the victory in the class reserved for design icons "Questione di Stile".

The ASI-Bertone Collection also received recognition thanks to the 1976 Ferrari Rainbow, the prototype designed by Marcello Gandini, which received the special Foglizzo award for the best original interior.

Back from the "Honorable Mention" won at the Concorso d'Eleganza of Villa d'Este, the Japanese artist Hidetomo Kimura, organizer of the Concorso d'Eleganza in Kyoto, won the "Pilota e Gentiluomo" class with his beautiful OSCA MT4 barchetta built in 1953 by Frua.

The victory in the Art in Motion class dedicated to the "magnificent coupes" could only go to the first automobile in history to have been exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, namely the Cisitalia 202 Berlinetta of 1947 by Gino Coen.

Simone Bertolero presented the event aboard the legendary Fiat 500 Spiaggia built in 1958 by Carrozzeria Boano for Lawyer Giovanni Agnelli flanked by three splendid models in vintage summer clothing, recreating in Turin the atmosphere that could be breathed in Saint Tropez in fabulous years of the Dolce Vita.

The next appointment with the Elegance Contests organized by Auto Classic and Between is for the first weekend of July in Sardinia in Poltu Quatu, in the splendid setting of the Costa Smeralda, where everything is ready to host the fourth edition of Poltu Quatu Classic.
