In the heart of the Netherlands, at the edge of Apeldoorn, lies the over 300 year old Palace Het Loo. Since 1999 it has been the beautiful backdrop of the Concours d’Élégance. On July 1st and 2nd 2017 one would once again find the most spectacular classic cars and prototypes in a Royal atmosphere on the basscourt and between the old trees you will find.

The International Concours d’Élégance Paleis Het Loo is the pillar  of the weekend. Around 70 beautiful classics battle for the title of “Best of Show 2017”. Selected entries are divided into classes and judged by an international jury on elegance, originality, restauration and presentation. The 13th edition we commemorated several anniversaries and other special occasions:

  • Gentleman sport cars pre 50 / 60 and 70’s
  • Pioneer Cars pre 1918
  • Special Coachwork pre war
  • Special Coachwork post war
  • 70 years of Ferrari
  • Les Reines de la route (1935 – 1955)
  • Japan
  • Preservation class pre-war
  • 90 years of Volvo
  • 70 years of Bristol
  • Fins & Muscles (1950 – 1958 / V8)
  • Touring superleggera
(Pegaso Z-102, Alfa Romeo 1900 Super Sprint, Alfa Romeo 2600, Aston Martin DB4, Lancia Flaminia GT, Lamborghini 350, Lamborghini 400 GT and Maserati 3500 GT )

National KNAC Concours

The KNAC (Royal National Automobile Club) is the founder of the ANWB and one of the organisers of the very first Car Rally to cross European borders, the Paris – Amsterdam – Paris race in 1898. A retro-rally is planned for in April 2018, 120 years later.

The National Concours celebrated 60 years of motoring on the Dutch streets, including cars that defined the local landscape of the 60’s.

The Classic Sprint

Several times a day, the center Palace lane which divides the showgrounds set the stage for spectacular sprints of pre-war cars. The roaring engines, the smell of burned oil and smoking tyres came together with the enthusiastic sound of Bert van den Dool.

Classic Car Parking

A crowd pleaser has been the classic car parking. Visitors coming with their classic cars were invited to free parking on the show grounds, resulting in over 1,000 classic cars for everyone to see.
