Auction Executive Jannelle Grigsby Joins Gooding & Company to Manage Strategic Communications and Publicity

SANTA MONICA, Calif., 7 May, 2013

Gooding & Company is pleased to announce its new Publicist, auction executive Jannelle Grigsby, who will manage strategic communications, media relations and brand building. Jannelle has assumed the full-time position immediately and has begun working on the company’s annual Pebble Beach Auctions taking place on August 17 and 18.  Gooding & Company is pleased to celebrate its 10th Anniversary as the official auction house of the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

Jannelle has 15 years of experience in media relations with a special expertise in strategic relationships.  Press highlights from her career include placements for Charlie Chaplin’s trademark hat and cane, Estelle Getty’s Emmy® Award and the auctions of The Personal Property of Marilyn Monroe, The Steve McQueen Sale, The Private World of Truman Capote, Tony Duquette’s Talismans of Power as well as the estates of philanthropist Nancy M. Daly and noted Hollywood agent, Sue Mengers, among others.  

Her career began in 1998 at Christie’s auction house in the Public Relations Department.  During her time with Christie’s, Jannelle played an integral role in garnering media coverage and online developments for some of the most exciting sales to come to auction in recent years. 

In 2005, she joined Bonhams, formally Bonhams & Butterfields, as a Consultant.  Jannelle was hired by the auction house in 2010 as Manager of Public Relations.  

Most recently, Jannelle held the position of Director, West Coast Public Relations at Bonhams, with a focus in US and international placements for California auctions.  During this time she was responsible for strategic relationships with key media outlets and brand building. 

Jannelle holds a Bachelor of Arts/Master of Science in Theory, Criticism and History of Art and Design (Hons) from Pratt Institute and a Certificate in Electronic Commerce from New York University.  She and her family currently reside in Santa Monica, CA.
