The FCA Heritage Officine Classiche workshops reopen their doors

Torino, May 14, 2020

As from today the FCA Heritage Officine Classiche workshops set inside the Mirafiori industrial complex in Turin are operative again: suspended due to the COVID-19 emergency, its invaluable certification and restoration activities have resumed service. Naturally, Officine Classiche will apply the safety and health protocol, developed by the FCA Group with the help of virologist Roberto Burioni. This is already in force throughout all FCA’s Italian operations - from factories to dealerships - and fully complies with the agreement, signed on April 9, between FCA and the Italian Trade Union Organization.

Established in 2015 in the headquarters of Abarth & C. in Via Plava in Turin, inside the former Officina 83 of Mirafiori, the Officine Classiche area hosts the repair, restoration and certification activities concerning historic FCA cars, whether belonging to private collectors or to the magnificent FCA Heritage collection, the Group's department dedicated to the protection and promotion of the historical heritage of Italian FCA brands. The accuracy and fidelity of each intervention is guaranteed by the use of the original production data and technical drawings of every model, kept in the company archives, and also by the unique experience of the FCA Heritage team of specialists.

In the Officine Classiche workshops, owners of vintage Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Lancia and Abarth cars find the key skills and unrivaled quality standards necessary for furthering their passion. Indeed, the same team that cares for the FCA collection is also available to private customers, with services ranging from simple maintenance – including that of racing models, which require specific checks before taking to the racetrack – to complete restoration: including diagnosis, interior restoration, repair of individual mechanical and aesthetic components... and complete final testing. Each model to be treated follows defined and rigorous processes, but these can also be made flexible, and adapted to any type of client request. For each restoration a dossier is created, containing the technical and photographic documentation of the procedures carried out.

As well as its restoration and repair works, Officine Classiche activities focused on issuing "Authenticity Certifications” will also be resumed. When every aspect of the vintage car has been analyzed in detail, and its production data and technical specifications in the company archives scrupulously verified, FCA Heritage certifies the vehicle’s authenticity, thus underlining its value. The certification process requires that each car goes through a rigorous control and evaluation process carried out by the FCA Heritage team of experts, carefully checking its authenticity and its components, and the functioning of the main mechanical parts. The Certificate of Authenticity is available for classic models of the Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Lancia and Abarth brands and – if the customer prefers – the analysis of the car can also be performed at the owner’s home, in complete safety.
