The event that started as a one day show with 75 stands in 1967 is now in its 45th year and boasts over 2,000 stands. Beaulieu’s Events Manager, Judith Maddox said: “The demand for stand space is increasing year on year; there are currently just a few spaces left for this year’s show and we anticipate it will be another sell-out. Advance ticket sales are also well up on last year. There are still spaces in the Mart and Trunk Traders and these can be booked, subject to availability, right up to the show opening day.”
With stands groaning with all kinds of vintage and classic motoring parts, accessories, automobilia, literature, tools and clothing, there is something for everyone and lots of bargains to be had. Recent years have seen an increase in the number of foreign visitors and English will be by no means the predominant language to be heard spoken on the event fields during the weekend.
In the Automart there will be up to 200 cars on offer, from restoration projects to cars in concours condition while the DealerMart will have a selection of classic cars for sale.
On Saturday, Bonhams will be holding an auction of collectors’ motor cars, motorcycles and automobilia. Among the eclectic mix of vehicles for sale, highlight lots include a 1972 Ferrari Dino Spyder, a 1922 Wolseley H.7, one of only ten known survivors, a horse-drawn phaeton and the only known example of a 1948 DOT AA Truck.
On Sunday, the popular Trunk Traders will offer amateur autojumblers the opportunity to sell their surplus motoring bits from the back of their cars.
Do meet the team of show sponsors, Classics Monthly Magazine on their stand in the Arena area for special show subscription offers – including a special subscription prize. They will also be delighted to talk classic cars with you.
The Autojumble is open from 10am on Saturday and 9.30am on Sunday. Ticket prices are 1-day adult, £14.30 (Sat), £12.70 (Sun), child £8.70 (Sat), £8.40 (Sun), even less for a two day ticket and booked in advance. For advance tickets visit http://www.beaulieushop.co.uk/
Visitors to the event will be able to enjoy all the Beaulieu attractions, including the National Motor Museum’s latest exhibition BOND IN MOTION. The largest of its kind staged anywhere in the world, it showcases 50 of the best loved and most iconic Bond vehicles – some never before seen in public - in celebration of the 50th year of James Bond films. The exhibition features a whole range of vehicles which have appeared in Bond films over the years including two bikes from the latest film Skyfall.
