5th Traversée de Paris ... July 29th, 2012

The largest summer classic car meeting in the heart of Paris

Set up by the Vincennes en Anciennes association along with the Fédération Frangaise des véhicules d'époque (French fédération of classic car), the Traversée de Paris is a unique meeting of classic car in Paris, which takes place twice a year, once during the summer and once during the winter.

When wheels meet stones

500 vehicles (automobiles, motorcycles, commercial vehicles, tractors, buses) from various time and makers will ride through the streets of the French capital city. Whether they are popular or luxurious, from France or from abroad, all these vehicles have their own stories and there is no better place than Paris in the summer to enjoy these beauties upon the amused look of enthusiast and curious people. The vehicles will leave the esplanade of the Château de Vincennes at 8:00am, and cruise through the most symbolic and particularly touristic places of: Place Daumesnil, Place de la Bastille, rue de Rivoli, Montmartre, and the Champs-Elysées, to arrive around I2:00pm at the Observatory's Terraces of the city of Meudon. Along the way, drivers will stop at place de l'Etoile, place de la Concorde, the Grand Palais and place des Invalides to allow people to look at the vehicles.

White is smart!

All the crews are invited to dress in white, in a fashion way that matches the age of their vehicles. A number of gifts will award the most elegant crews. People travelling on the free buses are also invited to follow the dress code.

Free buses and giant picnic opened to all on the Observatory's Terraces of Meudon
This meeting is above all a popular and family event, which aims at showing this magnificent heritage and turning it into a truly cruising museum. At the château de Vincennes, buses will welcome travellers for the ride, however, people are invited to book their tickets because of a limited number of seats available. Once arrived in Meudon, people are free to take part of the giant picnic. Everything is ready to have a nice day!

Vincennes en Anciennes is the first French classic car association
Created in I998, the association welcomes more than 900 members, which represents a park of 2.500 vehicles. The administrators are also active members in carmaker clubs. The first Sunday of every month, the Association meets on the esplanade of the Château de Vincennes. It joins in national or local initiatives as the Heritage Days, Telethon, research against Trisomy 2I, the Bleuet de France.
