Scuderia Ferrari Team Principal and Managing Director and Sebastian Vettel unveil the Monza SP1 in the Ferrari Red Lounge, which dominates the fan zone, at the Albert Park track in Melbourne, the setting for the first race of the Formula 1 World Championship that starts in Australia on Sunday.

Technology and tradition
The Ferrari Monza SP1 is the forerunner in a new concept, known as “Icona”, the perfect meeting between advanced technology and extraordinary tradition that Ferrari alone can offer. In the Monza SP1, Ferrari reinterprets a timeless style in line with modern standards, with technologically advanced components and the highest performance resulting from continuous innovation.

Contemporary barchetta
The Ferrari Monza SP1, which recently won the “Most Beautiful Supercar of the Year” award at the International Automobile Festival in Paris, is inspired by the 1950s barchettas, which were driven to victory in international championships by many Scuderia Ferrrari drivers, and also by gentlemen drivers who often measured themselves against the legendary names of the era. It was a 166M barchetta that put the Ferrari name in the history books for the first time, winning both the Mille Miglia and the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1949.
