Plugging the gap that had appeared due to the 250 GT Lusso being discontinued in 1964 in between the flagship 275 GTB and the four-seat 330 GT 2 2, the 330 GTC was introduced to the world at the Geneva Motor Show in March of 1966. Boasting a four-litre V-12 engine producing 300 bhp at 7,000 rpm with triple Weber carburetors, these cars boasted hydraulic disc brakes, a fully independent suspension, and a tubular steel chassis which was not too dissimilar from that of the 275 GTB. Subtly styled for those looking to use their 330 GTCs on a regular basis, these cars quickly developed a reputation as an excellent grand tourer. Its Pininfarina coachwork sported a nose similar to that of the 400 Superamerica and a tail similar to that of the 275 GTS. Each car was fitted as standard with a full leather interior and electric windows, with air conditioning available as an optional extra. Just 598 examples were built Sold new to its native Italy, this 330 GTC was shipped to Ferrari’s official dealer Motor S.a.S. in Rome where it was subsequently sold to its first owner in February of 1967. Finished in marrone over a beige leather interior, It’s first owner, a Mr. Pirri, only kept the car for a short while. By 1970, it was exported to the United States and acquired by Steve Lawing of North Carolina. Lawing retained ownership of the 330 GTC through 1975 when he sold the car to William R. Johnson of Upper Marlboro, Maryland. The 330 GTC’s next owner was Clyde Baldwin of Wilmington, Delaware, who would be the car’s longest term owner, keeping his Ferrari until May of 2003. It later returned to Italy where it remained with an Italian gentleman for a number of years until his passing, at which point it was placed into storage for a few years. Acquired by the current owner in October of 2011, the car was shipped to Hoyle-Fox Classics to be brought back to running order following its time in static storage and was subsequently road registered. In December 2013, it was decided that the car would be taken back to bare metal and fully restored. With the work again entrusted to Hoyle-Fox Classics, the restoration process took just under three years and saw the car refinished in its current colour combination of Blu Sera over a Pelle Grigio leather interior. Finally, the car was granted Ferrari Classiche certification in 2016, confirming that it retains its original chassis, engine gearbox, and bodywork. In addition to the certification binder, invoices from the restoration work are also on file. Finished a seldom seen and sophisticated colour combination, this 330 GTC presents beautifully throughout and would be a highly usable Enzo-era Ferrari for the enthusiast looking to enjoy longer journeys in one of Ferrari’s most well-regarded grand tourers. Available for inspection immediately at our facilities just outside London, this is a 330 GTC that needs nothing and is ready to be enjoyed.
