The RM Auction in Monaco on 12 May, during the Historic Grand Prix weekend, will provide a veritable feast for Ferrari fans, with 23 cars set to cross the block at the Grimaldi Forum during the course of the afternoon and evening. They will be joined by the unique 1953 Timossi-Ferrari hydroplane, Arno XI, with its 4.5 litre Ferrari twin supercharged V12 F1 engine, developing a claimed 600bhp in period, with which Achille Castoldi took the 800kg class speed record in October 1953 with a two-way average speed of 150.19mph (241.708kph).

The range of models on offer is truly eclectic, running from a pair of models from the very early part of the company’s production, a 1948 166 Inter Spider with Fontana bodywork, chassis # 012I, and a 1949 166 Inter Touring Coupe, chassis # 015S, to a 2008 599 GTB Fiorano. Along the way, there are a number of rare and interesting examples of the marque, including one of only two 625 TRC models built, a 225 Sport Spider, a 375 MM PF Spider, a Dino 206 S, the unique 308 GT4/LM, a F40 Proto/GT, an ex-Michael Schumacher F1-2000 and a FXX Evoluzione. Add in a fine selection of road cars spanning the decades, and it can be seen that there is a wide choice to suit the most discerning tastes.
