Artcurial's Automobiles sur les Champs Produces €7.5M!

1969 Lamborghini Miura S - Sold at €1,416,000

1969 Lamborghini Miura S - Sold at €1,416,000

Enthusiasts and collectors arrived in great numbers to attend this must-see Parisian event, the latest Automobiles sur les Champs sale. The auction realised a total of €7,500,000 with 85% of cars sold after a number of fiercely contested bidding battles.

Following two well-attended viewing days, the trio, Hervé Poulain – Matthieu Lamoure – Pierre Novikoff, once again brought the saleroom to life on 16 October 2022, beginning with a highly successful sale of Automobilia, in particular the Ferrari lots. This category achieved a 100% sell-through, pulling in three times its estimates in value.

The star cars on offer changed hands for very strong prices, following international bidding battles. The 1969 Lamborghini Miura S found a new owner after nearly 50 years for €1,416,000 and the 1974 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona sold for €870,160. Other Prancing Horse gems included the 1973 Ferrari Dino 246 GTS which sold for €441,040 and the 1996 Ferrari 512M, which made €363,560. The 2005 Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster found a new owner for €382,000 and the Bugatti Pur-Sang 35B for €327,800. Finally, a 1970's star, the modified 23-window VW Combi T1 1600 broke all the records, selling for €192,852!

It should be noted that the ‘Renault Icons’ collection also sold really well, with huge interest in the 1995 Renault Clio Williams which fetched the world record price of €73,904 and the Renault Floride which made €42,912, also a world record. The display engine was also highly sought after; estimated at €3,000-5,000, it finally changed hands for €65,560!

"We are delighted by the tremendous success of this Parisian sale, complete with world record prices, that had attracted many international - notably American - bidders, who took part in some epic bidding battles! Long live Collectors' Automobiles!", cheered a delighted Matthieu Lamoure, the Managing Director Artcurial Motorcars.
